This Old House | Detroit

Two couches facing each other in front of a fireplace in a living room
Nathan Kirkman - TOH

When the producers of “This Old House” called P&R in the early spring of 2016, we were beyond thrilled to partner up with the infamous Crew members of the hit PBS show, unfortunately the Indian village property fell though and as they say the show must go on, In doing so TOH teamed up with the Polk family to help restore a 1939 home in Detroit. The Polk project was a labor of love from the homeowners Tamiko, Frank & Family. P&R was contacted several times for trade referrals to electricians, plumbers, painters etc. eventually when they called about tile and decor we stepped up and donated our own services.

Roger Dutcher and crew nstalled pewabic tile on the fireplace in the main living room; Interior Designer Desirée spent several days late into the night rearranging furniture, accessories, hemming drapery and hanging artwork. Donating several pieces from her own studio to make sure the Polk’s space was complete. We were honored to participate and work along side our hero’s. Hope to see THO back in Detroit again soon.
